A slightly greenish or ivory-colored natural fat extracted from fruit of the shea tree by crushing and boiling. Shea butter is widely used in cosmetics as a moisturizer and an emollient.It is also a known anti-inflammatory agent. Shea butter can be effective at treating the following conditions: fading scars, eczema, burns, rashes, acne, severely dry skin, blemishes, dark spots, skin discolorations, chapped lips, stretchmarks, wrinkles and in lessening the irritation of psoriasis. Shea butter provides natural UV sun protection, although the level of protection is extremely variable, ranging from none at all to approximately SPF 6. A rich blend of Shea butter, cocoa butter and babassu oil as the main ingredients along with palm kernel, coconut and Jojoba oils makes for very nice rich lather. No fragrances or essential oils have been added as most people request this way. Shea butter is known for its moisturizing qualities and so our bar uses 32% Shea butter. If your comparing Shea butter soap bars, you will find most have only a small amount of Shea butter in them.
