olive oil (ol-iv oil): noun
A fruit oil obtained from the olive (Olea europaea; family Oleaceae along with lilacs, jasmine and ash trees), a traditional tree crop of the Mediterranean Basin. It is commonly used in cooking, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and soaps and as a fuel for traditional oil lamps. Olive oil is healthier than other sources of alimentary fat because of its high content of monounsaturated fat (mainly oleic acid) and polyphenols.Topical application is quite popular with fans of natural health remedies. Extra Virgin Olive Oil is the preferred grade for moisturizing the skin, especially when used in the Oil Cleansing Method (OCM). OCM is a method of cleansing and moisturizing the face with a mixture of extra virgin olive oil, castor oil (or another suitable carrier oil) and a select blend of essential oils. Jeanne Calment, who holds the record for the longest confirmed lifespan, reportedly attributed her longevity and relatively youthful appearance (for her age) to olive oil, which she said she poured on all her food and rubbed into her skin. castile (ca-steel): noun
A variety of mild soap, made from olive oil and sodium hydroxide. |

Testimonials: |
I had heard that handmade soap was good for your skin but had no idea. I was tired of using the standard body washes and then covering my body with lotion. It was a huge procedure everyday just to get showered. Then I used the olive oil soap. I was amazing. I had to work that year in Chicago, living out of a hotel, during the winter period, for 7 months. Knowing how my skin was, I was concerned, but amazingly my skin was fine, clean, smooth, soft and good feeling inspite of the dry hotel air and the winter chill of Chicago. I am hooked. I use your soap for my body, face, hands and my hair. Keep up the good job!! Jordan H. Pittsburgh PA 2006-03-08
I'd always had a problem with dry skin. Not a bad problem, but a consistent one. Your soap made it go away. I didn't realize the difference until I ran out of your soap (I usually use your Neem and Tea Tree Oil soap) and used commercial soap for a few days. When I noticed my skin was getting dry, I remembered that it had always been like that before. I immediately purchased more of your soap.My wife recently tried some of your soap, and her immediate reaction reminded me of my own, 'My hands don't feel dry after washing them'. Commercial soaps leave my skin feeling dry, or oily. Your soap leaves my skin just feeling clean. Tom R. Jupiter FL 2008-05-08
